Skyler R. Long, Esq.
Skyler Long is an attorney whose path to the legal profession reflects resilience, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to service. As the second oldest of seven siblings, Long grew up in a working-class family where responsibility and perseverance were instilled early. She joined the New York Army National Guard in 2014 and enlisted as an 88M Motor Transport Operator.
While balancing military service and civilian employment, Long earned her Political Science degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She later worked as a civilian paralegal at a personal injury law firm, where she gained firsthand experience advocating for injured clients and navigating complex legal matters.
Her military career continued to advance when she entered Active Guard Reserve service with the New York Army National Guard in 2019. Having already planned to take the LSAT, Long used a month-long COVID quarantine during reclassification training at Fort Lee in 2020 as an opportunity to study and sat for the exam before leaving. She earned admission to Pace University School of Law in 2021.
Long deployed to Kuwait with the historic 369th Sustainment Brigade, known as the Harlem Hellfighters, in 2022, where she served as Senior NCO of the Brigade Legal section. She obtained a waiver from New York's highest court allowing her to continue attending law school remotely while serving overseas, completing the majority of her second and third year studies from Kuwait while supporting military legal operations. She earned aMeritorious Service Medal for her service.
Upon returning home, Long transitioned into the private sector, working in legal and compliance at a private equity firm. After passing the New York Bar Examination, she practiced insurance defense litigation before founding Long Litigation & Defense to advocate.
Today, Long is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States Court of Federal Claims.
She is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the United States Court of Federal Claims Bar Association.
