Skyler Long is an attorney whose path to the legal profession reflects resilience, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to service. The second oldest of seven siblings, Long grew up in a working-class family where responsibility and perseverance were instilled early. She later joined the New York Army National Guard, serving as an 88M Motor Transport Operator.

Long deployed to Kuwait with the historic 369th Sustainment Brigade, known as the Harlem Hellfighters. While deployed, she obtained a waiver from New York’s highest court permitting her to continue attending law school remotely while serving overseas. During her deployment, Long was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for her service in support of the mission.

After returning home, Long transitioned to the private sector, working in legal and compliance at a private equity firm before entering private practice in insurance defense litigation. She later founded Long Litigation & Defense, a general-practice firm with a commitment to serving veterans, service members, and military families.

Long is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States Court of Federal Claims. She is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the United States Court of Federal Claims Bar Association.

β€œMy battle buddies kept needing a lawyer, so I started a law firm.”
